Hal Shelton (1916-2004)
was a cartographer and an accomplished terrain artist, who started his career with the U.S. Geological Survey. Shelton painted many excellent natural-color maps for Jeppeson Co, USA. The maps anticipate the detailed realism of satellite images, years before the era of satellites.
